In the Brno district of Heršpice you will find the largest commercial aquaponic farm in the Czech Republic so far. The entire building is adapted for the year-round cultivation of various types of crops and the breeding of thermophilic fish. The farm area is dominated by heated greenhouses with vertical growing systems for various types of leaf, fruit and root vegetables. Of course, the farm also includes facilities for fish farming, which provide a valuable source of nutrients for cultivated plants. Solar energy will be used to the maximum extent possible for heating the greenhouses. By equipping greenhouses with modern roofing with high insulating properties, it will be possible to farm thermophilic fish all year round with very favourable energy costs. The products of the aquaponic farm are intended primarily for customers from Brno and the surrounding area.

In the village of Kaly, north of Brno, we have built the most advanced aquaponic farm in the Czech Republic. Inside, you will find state-of-the-art technologies for combined freshwater fish farming and the cultivation of various vegetables and herbs without soil. The farm is used not only to produce the highest quality food all year round, but also as a research and teaching centre for our company.
At full operation, the farm produces 50 tonnes of trout and 45 tonnes of vegetables per year.

The aquaponic production farm in Letonice, east of Brno, is the third Czech project of the Future Farming group. With the building of this new aquaponic farm on a greenfield site, Future Farming reaches another milestone in the journey to a green-blue future of healthy food. The construction of the Letonice farm connects the possibilities of cutting-edge technology in the field of vertical farming with the advantages of building specifically for the needs of aquaponic farms. The Letonice aquaponic farm produces greens and herbs in symbiosis with the raising of African sharptooth catfish.

Our fourth aquaponic farm in the Czech Republic is beginning to take shape on a two-hectare land in Přerov nad Labem. Since we had no production farm in the Czech Republic, we were intensively looking for a suitable brownfield for its construction. We focused mainly on locations that would allow us to supply the capital city of Prague with aquaponic food. From this point of view, Přerov nad Labem represents a strategic locality. The great advantage of this agricultural site consists in its ideal parameters for building aquaponic infrastructure. The site includes renovated greenhouses having an area of 5,000 square metres, which we would like to use for growing aquaponic vegetables as well as freshwater fish-farming.

The first foreign project we have embarked on is in Slovakia, north of Bratislava. The farm will be built on a revitalized brownfield site, which we have adapted for the operation of the aquaponic farm. Senica will focus on the production of leafy vegetables, herbs, and breeding African catfish. We plan to distribute the food to the local market.
