FUTURE FARMING DEVELOPMENT

We offer functional technologies for modern agriculture

Based on its own research and development, Future Farming proved the functionality of its technology on its own farms long  ago. These technologies – aquaponics, hydroponics, and RAS, as well as technological units in the form of state-of-the-art farms for the agriculture of the future, are now also offered to the company’s business partners in the Czech Republic, Europe and the rest of the world.

What DEVELOPMENT means under Future Farming’s direction

Future Farming has tested the functionality of its advanced aquaponics, hydroponics, and RAS technologies on its own farms. It offers its sustainable technologies to business partners in the Czech Republic, elsewhere in Europe and in other continents worldwide. Comprehensive technology is supplied based on research, cutting-edge technology and experience from four production farms in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe. In 2021, Future Farming ranked among the top 10 projects in the Czech Republic that have the potential to meet the principles of sustainable development goals (SDGs) under the auspices of the United Nations.

Development phases for project implementation and investment strategy

  • Initiation Phase

The first phase is intended for basic site clarification, the introduction of technologies and the project management procedure.

  • Project Phase

The second phase defines the basic parameters of technologies according to the individual needs of the project.

  • Implementation Phase

Once the legislative steps have been completed, the project moves into the construction and technology installation phase.

  • Starting the System

The last phase of the process is to launch the technology in the testing phase and then in normal operation at full production capacity.

Why invest in purchasing your own aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS technology?

The promising future of our solutions is determined by their low energy intensity, ecological principles of operation, and the growing need for food sovereignty linked to regional product demands, climate change, and epidemiological lockdowns.

  • PROFITABILITY

People will always eat, so investing in modern agriculture is safe and highly profitable. Investing in your own farm is also reliable, because the investor physically owns the farm: they can not only touch their investment, but they can also literally taste it on their farm.

  • ECOLOGY

Investing in modern agriculture is a value-added investment. The operation of aquaponic, hydroponic and RAS technologies is an environmental, social, and ecological project. Such an investment not only protects the investor’s money but is also an example of organic farming, creating jobs and a regular supply of local, high-quality food to the local market.

  • SUSTAINABILITY

Investing in aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS technologies has a big reach into the future. It is already clear that the human race cannot do without weather-independent precision farming systems. Investing in modern agriculture and Future Farming shows what future farming will look like today.

SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES FOR MODERN AGRICULTURE

  • Aquaponics is an innovative technological solution based on a natural fertiliser cycle in nature: animals provide nutrition to plants, and plants provide nutrition to animals. In advanced aquaponics, unlike in nature, this system is controlled and therefore creates high value for commercial use. Aquaponics is an effective alternative to traditional agriculture and offers huge potential for future growth.

  • Hydroponics - NFT technology

NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) hydroponics is one of the most commonly used hydroponic technologies. It is a system using a very low level of nutrient solution that flows around the plant roots. The plants are placed in a special holder that is placed in a water channel that is partially filled with a nutrient solution. The nutrient solution is then circulated around the plant roots while its level is kept low to maintain constant moisture. The nutrients are then absorbed directly by the roots. This system is highly efficient and allows plants to grow in a controlled environment with minimal water and nutrients.

  • Hydroponics - DWC - Horizontal solution

Hydroponics DWC (Deep Water Culture) is a method of growing plants without the use of soil. The plants are placed in a support module, which is located on the surface of the water surface. The water is enriched with concentrated nutrient compounds and is periodically changed to maintain a constant pH and nutrient concentration. Each vessel has a pipe that leads to the bottom of the vessel and is connected to an aeration device that maintains a constant flow of oxygen into the system. Oxygen is essential for growth, so this system provides an optimal environment for plants. Plants are placed in baskets with drainage holes to allow water to move freely and nutrients to be properly distributed to the plants.

  • Hydroponics - DWC - Vertical solution

Hydroponics DWC (Deep Water Culture) is a method of growing plants without the use of soil. The vertical solution of DWC technology allows you to use the growing section to the maximum. The technology is intended for installation in indoor farms without access to daylight. Here, natural light is replaced by an artificial source with a modified light spectrum for the correct development of production.

  • RAS - breeding of rainbow trout

Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) represent a cutting-edge technology of intensive fish farming that allows fish to be raised intensively and in a fully controlled environment while maintaining ecological and sustainable production with minimal impacts on the surrounding ecosystem. RAS technology – trout breeding is prepared for optimal breeding of this type of freshwater fish.

  • RAS - African sharptooth catfish breeding

We have adapted recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for the needs of optimal breeding of African catfish, which is becoming a popular fish among European consumers. The system represents a cutting-edge technology of intensive fish farming, which allows fish to be raised intensively and in a fully controlled environment while maintaining ecological and sustainable production with minimal impacts on the surrounding ecosystem.

Development

Project process management

The process of offering technology is broken down into different project preparation phases. Each phase of project preparation has its own specifics, and it is important to ensure mutual cooperation and communication between the client and the technology supplier.

In the second part of the process—the PROJECT PHASE—development moves to an individual approach and the preparation of specific documents according to the individual needs of the project. The first individual document is the STUDY OF IDEAS. It is a study that defines the recommended technology according to the specified parameters, refines data, production outputs, economic model, and other follow-up processes of the planned project.

DEMAND PROCESS

The project preparation process begins with establishing communication with the Development Division.

SITE ASSESSMENT

A follow-up process assesses the site and facility in terms of size, infrastructure and other parameters defining the possibilities of the intended technologies.

FAMILIARISATION WITH THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROCESS

We will familiarise you with the entire project management via the Development Division. We define the individual phases of the process and their continuations.

INTRODUCTION OF FUTURE FARMING’S TECHNOLOGIES

A basic introduction to the technologies for modern agriculture, along with the types and scaling of each system, will help refine the idea for project implementation.

STUDY OF IDEAS

The content of the documentation is the definition, description and deployment of technologies. The document gives recommendations on which authorities to contact and the legislative frameworks the project will face. The document includes a price offer for the compilation of the FEASIBILITY STUDY document.
*Price of Idea Study: EUR 5,000 without VAT
*When moving to the next phase, the price of the Idea Study is deducted from the price of the Feasibility Study.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

Complex documentation defines a detailed description of the technology for growing plants or breeding fish. It includes project visualization and basic drawing documentation. The economic part of the document is devoted to the energy demand of the operation, yields from crops, return on investment and recommendations for the production portfolio. In this phase, a visit by a technician to the place of implementation is ensured.

PROJECT FOR BUILDING PERMIT

The preparation of the project required for a building permit is a demanding administrative part of any project. Thanks to our experience, you will save a lot of time spent dealing with the relevant authorities.

IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT DOCUMENTATION

Partial project documentation for project implementation is intended for individual work teams involved in project implementation. It is a comprehensive documentation for the construction and installation of technologies.

Construction part of the project

Building modifications to the building are linked to site modification for the subsequent application of the chosen technology. The construction part of the project is solved on the basis of the processed project documentation.

Handing over the construction part

After the completion of all the preparatory parts of the construction, the construction-ready project passes to the management of the installation of technologies.

Technologies

The chosen technology is installed in the agreed range. The following necessary tests and trials will check the correct connection of the technologies.

Test mode

The testing phase will check the functionality of the technologies with partially installed production. Technology calibration and constant monitoring are underway.

Sharp mode

The project is being prepared for full production capacity in a sharp mode of operation. Attention is mainly paid to the diagnosis of the conditions for the correct operation of the technology.

Full production capacity

The entire system is in continuous production mode. According to the agreement, monitoring and possible maintenance of the system of all technologies takes place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a key study and supporting documents for the meeting?

Yes, we have a unique GLP (Green Land Project) key study that shows all connections and a complete aquaponic farm model including visualizations and presents full economic information. We are able to provide all these materials before the meeting itself. If you’re interested in investing in building your own aquaponic farm, fill out the form on this page and we’ll get back to you.

What is the return period for investing in technology or building your own farm?

To calculate the return on investment in an aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS farm, several inputs are necessary: one of them is the duration of the construction of the farm – from the beginning of construction to the start of continuous operation. The second input required to calculate the payback period for building a farm is the type of production on a particular farm. So: will it be aquaponic, hydroponic, or RAS? What fish and plants will be chosen for a particular farm? These are the inputs from which the payback period of the investment in the construction of the farm is calculated.

Is 40,000 euros the final amount for building an aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS farm?

40,000 euros is the value of the basic functional module according to the selected technology. This is an investment in which the production capabilities of the technology already enable large-scale production.

For which entities is investment in building an aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS farm intended?

Investment in the construction of one’s own farms is for both individuals and business companies, investment houses and public institutions.

Where is it possible to build an aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS farm?

The key study, concerning a technological unit in the form of a modern farm, is prepared in such a way that the farm can be created anywhere, or almost anywhere in the world. Our modern agricultural technologies, processes and construction procedures are always the same, wherever we build. And what’s more – thanks to the UN and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) award we received, we know that our farms are suitable for all climates on most continents, without any restrictions.
